Library and Learning Services Computers and IT Help.

Over 500 computers are available in Kimberlin Library, Eric Wood and the Greenhouse.

These computers have access to a range of software and printing can be carried out at any location on campus. Access is available to Kimberlin Library 24/7 during term time. On-line library access is available 24/7 year round.

Software

The computers across campus have a range of software; within Kimberlin Library, Eric Wood and the Greenhouse software available includes:

Printing, Photocopying & Scanning

The Kimberlin Library is home to around 20 new multifunction devices installed across the University. There are also a number available in Eric Wood and The Greenhouse. A helpsheet is available that explains how to use the new devices.

Standard A4 and A3 Black & White and Colour Printing can be sent from any PC and printed off on any device on campus.

Photocopying and scanning can also be carried out on any device on campus.

Within Kimberlin Library specialist printing of A4 acetates, A4 soft gloss and A3 High Quality is also available in the 1st Floor IT area.

Payment for computer printing and photocopying can be made in cash at Kiosks situated in the foyer of Kimberlin Library (or at other locations across campus).

Student Support Computers and Software

There is a combined total of 12 student support PCs available within Kimberlin Library, the Law Library, Eric Wood and the Greenhouse.

These computers offer specialist software including Zoomtext, Read & Write and Inspiration.

Wireless Network

Wireless is available in the Kimberlin, Eric Wood and Law Library, although users should be aware that there will be places with no signal due to shelving and other fixtures. To use the wireless please follow these instructions.

For further help please speak to the faculty/department IT technicians or the Library IT Help Desk. If the IT technicians are unable to resolve the issues then please contact the ITMS Help Desk.

Student Email

Important information is sent to Students’ DMU email accounts, including your Library PIN number, which is required for telephone library renewals, online library account management, access to Examnet and Self Issue machines. Additional information is available online for student email.

Syndicate Rooms

8 bookable syndicate rooms are available within Kimberlin Library and 2 in the Law Library.

Additional open access syndicate areas are available in Eric Wood and the Greenhouse.

Help Desk

Staff at the First Floor Help Desk can advise and assist with all aspects of the computing and printing system.
