E-tutorials for distance learners.

Practical, personalised study advice for students on recognised distance learning courses.

What is an e-tutorial?

An e-tutorial is study advice via email for students on distance learning courses.

We can offer advice on a range of academic skills, including:

  • writing in an academic style;
  • structuring an essay, report or dissertation;
  • writing a literature review;
  • referencing and avoiding plagiarism;
  • managing your time.

How do I contact e-tutorials?

Send an email to classetutorials@dmu.ac.uk.

What information should I include in my email?

Your email must include your P number, your year of study and the name of your course.

You can also indicate on which aspect of your work you would like advice.

Can I send a copy of my assignment?

You can send a short section of your work (up to 500 words) with your email, but we do not proof read whole assignments.

How long will I have to wait for a reply?

We aim to reply within 4 working days during term time.

Please note, this service is for students on distance learning courses only.

If in doubt, you can check the status of your course.
