1. What are these 'Find it @ DMU' buttons that are appearing everywhere?

The Library has a new application that links the search results you find in some databases with the articles in electronic journals were these are available to you.

2. When do I get to see these buttons?

They appear on search results on some services when you login in using your Single Sign On account, or you are sitting inside the De Montfort University IP address range (effectively: on campus).

3. Why is there more than one full text option for some journals?

There are some journals that we can find in more than one service. It is worth knowing about them all in case one is not available when you need it.

4. Why didn't I get a full text link for my article?

Most likely because that title is not one to which the University has a subscription. There could be other reasons though, perhaps it is not available in electronic format yet, or the journal is not registered in our database.

5. What can I do if there is no full text?

It would be worth checking the DMU Library Catalogue first, in case the journal is sitting on the shelves there. If you are still out of luck, we may be able to get a copy of the article through our interlibrary loans service. Ask at the library for more details.

6. I clicked on 'Full text available via..', but just got to the journal home page. Why was that?

Some publishers put limits on how close we can get you to the article. We will try to get you as close as we can.

7. What should I do when I get a 'bad URL' or 'Error 404', or some other 'not found' message?

If the server is down it may be a temporary problem. If not, please let us know using the feedback form in the 'Find it' menu. We will see what we can do to fix it.

8. Nothing happens at all for me! Why is that?

Most likely you have pop-ups blocked in your browser. If there is a bar along the top of the browser window you can set permission for the extra windows this service needs to work.

9. What does the address 'about:blank' mean?

This address might display while the page is being fetched for you.

10. Who do I contact with suggestions for this service?

Please send us your feedback, positive and negative, via the Feedback form on the main 'Find it' menu. Alternatively, for further help please contact your Subject Librarian.
