Library and Learning Services

Research Postgraduate Room.

The existing Research Room 00:10 will be shut and repurposed from Monday 15th May onwards until the new space becomes available. During this period we will be making available room 0:07a in the Kimberlin Learning Development Zone for the exclusive use of Research students. This has a reduced capacity of one study place.

Entrance to the rooms is by swiping your card.

These new rooms are intended to complement existing facilities that are available else where in Kimberlin (e.g. photocopiers are available on the same floor and bookable syndicate spaces for presentation practice and viewings are available on the Ground Floor). The rooms provide an exclusive space for study with access to IT and the wireless network. Feedback forms are provided if you have suggestions for improvements.

Please note:

  • We are happy for you to consume drinks and cold food in these rooms, but please place any debris in the bins provided.
  • Food and hot drinks are not allowed anywhere else in the library, other than on the Ground Floor. Please do not carry hot drinks through the building, otherwise you are likely to be stopped by a member of staff. The ground floor cafe and vending facility is available for refreshments.
  • Hot food may not be consumed anywhere in the library.
  • “Guests” and non-DMU researchers are not allowed access.
  • The Department of Library Services cannot take responsibility for items left unattended in these rooms.
  • The postgraduate rooms operate under Library Regulations, and we ask that you adhere to these.
